FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Question 1:  What is your plan for combating high Orange County property taxes?

Answer: My goal is to promote growth & development in the economic development areas by encouraging industrial/manufacturing businesses to locate into the areas and provide more local jobs. This will increase commercial property and sales taxes thereby relieving pressure on residential property tax increases.

Question 2:  How can we go about obtaining adequate and equitable funding for Orange County schools, resources and facilities?

Answer:  My goal is to evaluate school funding requests against needs of all our students and provide needed funding for school facilities and resources. We need to eliminate any duplication of services or waste that may exist in the funding process. We also need to assure that all students receive equal education opportunities; so it is important that we strive for equitable funding for all Orange County schools.

Question 3:  How do you plan to change the inadequate amount of youth and senior programs in Orange County?

Answer:  My goal is to continue working for improvements in senior programs and facilities as I have done in the past. Additionally, my goal is to provide recreational opportunities for all Orange County citizens.

Question 4:  Mr. Allison, why should I vote for you?

Answer:  Vote for me because I am the candidate who will bring to the Board of Orange County Commissioners broad community experience and a strong commitment to improve the quality of life for all of the citizens in this community.
